Weaponizing Aid: How Aid Dependency Maintains Colonialism in Palestine

The world is witnessing protracted conflicts on various fronts, with the
most prominent being the Russian-Ukraine war and the Israeli attacks on
Palestine. According to the Organisation for Economic Co-operation and
Development (OECD), 60 contexts are considered fragile wherein 24% of the world’s population live. The OECD defines fragility as the “combination of exposure to risk and insufficient coping capacities of the state, system and/or communities to manage, absorb or mitigate those risks.” It measures fragility across six dimensions – economic, environmental, political, security, societal and human.
