Following the success and achievements of civil society advocacy and engagement during the Fourth High Level Forum on Aid Effectiveness, the Reality of Aid – Asia Pacific has successfully established the CPDE platform in the region. The 1st Asia Pacific CPDE Coordination Committee (CC) Meeting was held last July 1-2, 2013 in Bangkok. Sub-regional consultations in Central Asia, North East Asia, South Asia, South East Asia, and the Pacific  were also completed early this year. The consultations aimed to discuss and generate indicative plans and develop advocacy strategies of the CSO Partnership for Development Effectiveness (CPDE) in the sub regional and country level.

Key highlights of the 1st AP CPDE CC meeting and of the sub regional consultations:

  1. Establishment of the regional and sub-regional structures.
  2. Confirmation of Azra Sayeed as Asia Pacific Focal Person and Don Marut as Alternate. Azra and Don will represent the Asia Pacific Region in CC and Global Council meetings.
  3. Identified priority activities and proposals for policy research in each sub-region.
